How to mount the cleats
The cleat is fixed with two screws to the sole of an SPD-compatible cycling shoe. Position the cleat under the ball of the foot and tighten the screws to the recommended torque. After mounting, adjust the release tension on the pedal.

It is a cleat set for SPD-compatible cycling shoes. It includes two cleats and two counter plates, sold as a pair.
The cleats fit all Shimano SPD pedals and many compatible pedals from other manufacturers. They attach to SPD cycling shoes with two threaded holes.
The cleats are fixed with the included screws to the shoe sole. Position the cleat under the ball of the foot. Then adjust the release tension on the pedal.
The single release (SM-SH51) releases only with an outward twisting motion. Multi-release cleats (SM-SH56) also release with sideways or upward movements and are intended for beginners.
Shimano offers 24 months manufacturer warranty on material and workmanship defects. The warranty does not cover wear parts or incorrect installation.
