Unlike dedicated prime lenses, this zoom covers a 6.3× focal range in a single unit, eliminating the need to swap lenses between wide-angle and telephoto setups. The internal zoom mechanism keeps the lens length stable during focal changes, and the OSS system provides up to 4 stops of correction for sharper handheld shots.
