Shure 520DX Studio Microphone – Dynamic Instrument Microphone with Omnidirectional Pattern
The Shure 520DX is a dynamic studio microphone specifically designed for capturing instruments such as guitar amplifiers, snares, and brass. Its omnidirectional pattern captures sound directly in front of the diaphragm and effectively suppresses ambient noise.
Dynamic transducer for high sound pressure levels – distortion-free recording even at loud volumes
Omnidirectional pattern minimizes room tone and feedback – ideal for live and studio use
Rugged construction for long-lasting use on stage and in the studio
Versatile: suitable for guitar, brass, percussion, and other instruments
What sets the Shure 520DX apart
The 520DX combines proven Shure dynamic capsule technology with a distinctive retro design. It delivers the typical punchy Shure sound that blends perfectly into the mix without overloading.
Ideal for...
The Shure 520DX is aimed at musicians and producers who want to capture instruments with character – on stage, in the rehearsal room, or in the professional studio. Guitarists and brass players particularly appreciate its direct, faithful sound reproduction.
How to use the Shure 520DX
Place the microphone directly in front of the sound source, e.g. about 2–5 cm from the guitar amplifier. For snare or toms, it can also be positioned at an angle from above. Use a microphone stand with a suitable thread (5/8 inch).
