The BR-M9220 caliper uses a postmount interface, which is the standard mounting standard for most modern full-suspension and hardtail mountain bike frames. Verify that your frame has a postmount brake mount before purchase.
The system uses Shimano mineral oil. Do not use DOT fluid, as it is incompatible with Shimano's sealed hydraulic system and will damage the seals and internal components.
Mount the lever on the handlebar, attach the caliper to the postmount bracket on the frame or fork, route the hydraulic hose, and bleed the system with mineral oil. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with hydraulic brake systems.
