Shimano is a Japanese manufacturer of bicycle components and fishing tackle, known for high-quality drivetrain and brake components. The brand is among the leaders in the road bike and mountain bike segments. With innovative technologies like Di2 electronic shifting, Shimano sets standards in the industry.
Clipless pedals, also called pedals with cleats, allow a fixed connection between the shoe and the pedal. The foot is held by a mechanism on the pedal and can be released by a twisting motion. This improves power transfer and bike control.
These pedals use the SPD-SL cleat system. You need road cycling shoes with a compatible 3-hole SPD-SL insert. The supplied cleats fit most common road cycling shoes.
You need a 15 mm Allen wrench. The pedals are marked L (left) and R (right) for correct installation. The left pedal is threaded counterclockwise.
The delivery includes one pair of pedals (left and right), one pair of SPD-SL cleats with mounting screws, and an installation manual.
The pedals require low maintenance. Clean them occasionally with a damp cloth and lubricate moving parts if needed with a light oil. The warranty period is 24 months.
