How to use the Hoya ND filter
Screw the filter onto the lens thread (52 mm).
Rotate the front ring to set the desired density – from light darkening (ND3) to near-complete (ND400).
Mount the camera on a tripod and use the self-timer or remote shutter to avoid camera shake.
Adjust the exposure time accordingly – the filter enables long exposures from several seconds to minutes.

A variable ND filter (neutral density filter) progressively reduces the amount of light reaching the camera sensor by rotating the ring. The Hoya Variable Density II covers a range from ND3 to ND400, equivalent to about 1–8.6 stops.
The filter has a 52 mm thread and fits all lenses with this filter diameter. Compatible with tripods and most camera bodies.
Rotate the front ring of the filter clockwise to increase density. A mark on the ring indicates the approximate setting. Avoid turning beyond the maximum stop to prevent jamming.
