DFROBOT Maqueen – Programmable Robot for micro:bit
The DFROBOT Maqueen is a pre-assembled robot designed specifically for the micro:bit. With its RGB LEDs and controllable motors, it is ideal for first steps in robotics and programming.
RGB LEDs for visual effects and feedback – learn how sensors and actuators work together.
Two controllable motors enable precise movements and maneuvers – perfect for line following or obstacle avoidance.
Battery-powered (3× AAA, not included) makes the Maqueen mobile and flexible.
Simple assembly: no soldering, no prior knowledge required – ready to use with your micro:bit.
What sets the Maqueen apart
The Maqueen impresses with its ease of use and versatility. It is fully compatible with the micro:bit ecosystem and can be programmed with MakeCode, MicroPython, or C++. The integrated RGB LEDs allow creative lighting effects, while the motors provide precise control. Thanks to its compact design, it is suitable for both classroom and personal projects.
Ideal for...
The DFROBOT Maqueen is aimed at students, makers, and teachers who want to explore robotics and programming in a playful way. It is especially suitable for use in schools, coding clubs, or at home – wherever hands-on learning is key.
How to use the Maqueen
Plug your micro:bit (not included) into the dedicated connector on the board. Program the micro:bit with your preferred development environment – for example MakeCode, MicroPython, or C++. Upload the program to the micro:bit, insert three AAA batteries, and the robot is ready. Control the Maqueen via radio, sensors, or pre-programmed sequences.
DFROBOT is a Chinese manufacturer of development boards and robotics kits focused on education and the maker community. Their products are known for ease of use and compatibility with platforms such as Arduino, micro:bit, and Raspberry Pi.
