AXIS Network Door Controller A1210 – Reliable Access Control for One Door
The AXIS Network Door Controller A1210 is a compact IP-based controller for secure management of a single door. It is part of the AXIS Edge System architecture and enables local decisions without dependence on a central server.
Controls one door over the network and integrates flexibly into existing security infrastructures – reduces cabling effort and costs.
Supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) as well as 12/24 V DC power – offers maximum installation flexibility.
Compatible with OSDP and Wiegand reader protocols – allows connection to virtually any standard door reader.
The AXIS Edge System architecture ensures local processing, increases reliability, and reduces latency.
The compact white design (width 120 mm) fits unobtrusively into any environment and simplifies mounting.
What sets the AXIS A1210 apart
Unlike traditional door controllers, the A1210 works as an Edge device: access decisions are made locally without requiring a constant connection to a server. This increases reliability and lowers operating costs. The open OSDP and Wiegand protocols ensure broad compatibility with existing door readers.
Ideal for...
The AXIS A1210 is particularly suitable for IT managers, facility managers, and security service providers who want to implement modern IP-based access control for individual doors. Companies leveraging Edge Computing benefit from local intelligence and easy integration into network environments.
How to use the AXIS A1210
Connect the controller to your LAN via an Ethernet cable and power it either via PoE or a 12/24 V DC power supply. Connect the door reader to the terminals for OSDP or Wiegand. Configure the device conveniently using the AXIS Device Manager app or the web interface. The A1210 is ready to use and requires no manual IP addressing via DHCP.
Axis Communications is a global leader in network surveillance solutions, headquartered in Sweden. The company is known for its innovative IP cameras, video management software, and access control systems. Axis products are characterized by high reliability, cybersecurity, and open standards. With the A1210, Axis offers a compact door controller for IP-based access solutions, combining Edge Computing with multiple interfaces.
The AXIS A1210 is an IP-based controller for access control of a single door. It is part of the AXIS Edge System architecture and enables local decisions without reliance on a central server. It supports OSDP and Wiegand reader protocols as well as PoE power.
The controller is suitable for electric strikes, magnetic locks, and other common door locks controlled by dry contacts or 12 V DC.
The A1210 supports Ethernet (RJ45), OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol), and Wiegand protocol, ensuring compatibility with most standard door readers.
The A1210 can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE 802.3af/at), 12 V DC, or 24 V DC. PoE reduces cabling as no separate power supply is needed.
Yes, the A1210 is part of the AXIS Edge system and enables local processing of access data. Door functions remain operational even during network outages.
