Which school bag is suitable for the 1st grade?

For school beginners, classic school satchels with a rigid body, wide shoulder straps and clearly visible reflectors are ideal. Brands such as Scout and ergobag offer models with ergonomic back padding that can be perfectly adjusted to the child's height.

What is the difference between a school satchel and a school backpack?

A school satchel has a rigid frame and a flap front, which provides a good overview of the contents. A school backpack is softer and often cut higher, making it more suitable for older children and teenagers who want more flexibility.

What is the maximum weight a school bag should be?

As a guideline, a filled school bag should not weigh more than 10 to 12 percent of the child's body weight. Lighter models with ergonomic features help to relieve strain on the back.

Which kindergarten bag is suitable for preschool?

For kindergarten, smaller, lightweight bags or backpacks with child-friendly motifs, soft shoulder straps and an easily accessible main compartment are ideal. Models such as the ergobag kindergarten backpack or the Scout Buddy are particularly popular.

How do I properly care for and clean a school bag?

Most school bags can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Stains should be treated as quickly as possible so they do not set. Do not wash in the washing machine, as this could damage the material and shape.

Which pencil case matches the school bag?

Many manufacturers offer matching pencil cases designed to complement their school satchels in the same design and with the same colors. Filled pencil cases with multiple compartments are ideal for keeping pens, erasers and rulers neatly organised.

Are there special sports bags for school sports?

Yes, many brands such as Dakine and Eastpak produce durable sports bags in various sizes that are ideal for PE lessons and as a gym bag for the weekend.

At what age does a dedicated desk make sense?

As soon as a child regularly draws, does crafts or completes their first homework at home, a height-adjustable desk is useful – often from around 5 or 6 years of age. Brands such as Moll and Paidi offer growing models that can be used for many years.

School bags by age group

For school beginners, classic school satchels with a sturdy frame, wide shoulder straps and reflective elements ensure a safe journey to school. For older children and teenagers, flexible school backpacks with ergonomic back padding and practical organiser compartments are in demand. For kindergarten, lighter, child-friendly kindergarten bags with soft straps are sufficient. Complementing these, you'll find pencil cases, desks and sports bags that make everyday school life more structured and comfortable.

Desks, pencil cases & sports bags for school life

In addition to the school bag itself, further equipment plays an important role: a height-adjustable desk supports concentration during homework, a well-organised pencil case keeps all pens at hand, and a hard-wearing sports bag makes it easy to carry PE kit and sports shoes. All products are specially selected for the needs of schoolchildren and are available in high-quality finishes.
